Our Story

The practice that became violet-mentoring began informally in 2014 when several professionals from different industries started meeting regularly to discuss a shared frustration. Despite achieving conventional success, each felt trapped in patterns that left them perpetually depleted.

Over months of conversation and experimentation, this group developed approaches that genuinely changed their experience of demanding work. Word spread. Others asked for guidance. What started as peer support evolved into a structured methodology that we now share with clients across sectors.

What Distinguishes Our Approach

Many programmes in the personal development space offer either practical productivity techniques or deeper psychological work. We integrate both, recognising that sustainable change requires addressing both surface behaviours and underlying patterns.

Our mentors have each navigated significant professional transitions themselves. This is not incidental. We believe credible guidance on sustainable performance must come from those who understand real pressures from direct experience rather than academic observation alone.

"Understanding the science of performance is necessary but insufficient. True transformation comes from integrating knowledge with lived practice over time."

Our Values

Integrity

We recommend only what we practice ourselves. Every technique we teach has been tested through our own experience of demanding professional life.

Evidence

Our methods draw from peer-reviewed research. We translate academic insights into practical applications without oversimplifying the science.

Partnership

Coaching relationships are collaborative. We bring expertise while honouring that each client understands their own situation most deeply.

Our Team

The violet-mentoring team combines backgrounds in corporate leadership, psychology, and organisational development. Each mentor brings a minimum of fifteen years professional experience alongside formal coaching credentials.

We deliberately maintain a small practice. This allows us to know each client thoroughly and provide genuinely personalised guidance rather than packaged solutions. Our capacity is limited precisely because quality matters more than scale.

Professional Foundations

Our methodology integrates insights from several established fields. We draw particularly on research in occupational health psychology, which examines how work affects wellbeing and performance over time.

Neuroscience informs our understanding of energy management, attention, and recovery. Behavioural economics helps us design interventions that account for how people actually make decisions rather than how they theoretically should.
